Accumul8’s Preserves with a Purpose delicious jams and chutneys are all hand made with surplus fruit donated from people’s gardens and allotments in the local community. Every jar sold helps to fund creative workshops and activities for young, homeless people which builds their skills, confidence and sense of well-being living at the YMCA hostel in North London.
We work together with the young people to make the preserves, training them in preparing food and cooking skills and whilst also giving them valuable work experience and helping them work towards independence.(we now also regularly employ one young homeless person as chief preserve maker). The fruit for the Accumul8 Preserves with a Purpose is donated by the local community, from their gardens and allotments, and so not only do the Accumul8 preserves help disadvantaged people find independence, do good and taste wonderful, but they also use perfectly good fruit which would otherwise have been wasted and thrown away.

Apple Pie Jam – made with apples, sugar, cloves, cinnamon and lemon. This jam is just like spreading a piece of America on your toast, chock full of nostalgia that will remind you of the good things in life.
Apple, Rose Water and Cardamom Jam – made with apples, sugar, rose-water cardamom and lemon. This jam will make you dream of Moroccan Hammans! It has a subtle, aromatic taste that will whisk you away to a magical place of deliciousness.
The Accumul8 Chutney Box contains two perfect chutneys (227g jars) that go with meat or cheese or anything savoury:
Morrocan Apple and Date Chutney – made with apples, sugar, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, ginger, cayenne pepper, dates, crushed black pepper and vinegar….a unique taste combination of Middle Eastern spices and English apples!
Apple, Lemon and Chilli Chutney – made with apples, lemon, sugar, chilli, mustard seeds, ginger and vinegar. This chutney has a warm flavour with a subtle after-kick that comes through from the chilli and mustard.
