Analogue Photography
3 hours

This half day Masterclass will let participants familiarise themselves with the fascinating art of analogue photography.
Using both 35mm and medium format film cameras, the tutor and participants will work together on a real photography assignment, and experiment with various camera techniques using black and white film. Everyone will also receive the negatives and contact sheet of the photographs they have taken.
Fascinator Hat Making Workshop

This fun and interactive workshop is designed for beginners and is a great way to dive head first into the world of millinery. Over this three hour workshop will learn the basics of how to design, create and make by hand a beautiful and eye-catching fascinator hat that they can wear or gift to others.
Participants will work with millinery structures, wires, loops and bows to build their fascinator and then add their own decoration and individual style with flowers, feathers, fabrics to make their fascinator really stand out from the crowd.
Feel free to bring along any materials, flowers or any specific ideas of colour beforehand, to prepare for the projects.
Wreath Making Workshop From Recycled Materials

On this three-hour workshop everyone will learn how to design, create and make their own gorgeous, colourful and unique festive wreath from recycled materials so that you can decorate your front door with style and flair. Each step will be explained in full by an experienced tutor who will demonstrate and teach you the techniques and skills you need in a really accessible way so that everyone’s creativity and imagination can be explored (however uncreative they may think they are!). All the decorations for the festive wreaths will be from recycled materials so that your beautiful festive wreath will also be beautiful for the world!
Ceramics Workshop

Venue: Hackney or Shoreditch
Create your own mini gardens in a Hackney Pottery Studio. In this 3 hour ceramics workshop everyone will make 2 plant holders for succulent plants in red terracotta clay, one free standing and one which is a hanging pot. On completion of the workshop all the plant holders will be fired, then completed with a selection of succulent plants and appropriate compost and then returned to everyone.
This ceramics workshop introduces everyone to the pinch pot method and surface decoration can be explored by stamping impressions or additions of cut clay shapes. No previous experience of pottery needed. There will be a short break in the middle of the workshop where tea is provided.
How to use TikTok Workshop

This workshop will cover the basics of TikTok, the basics of virality (what makes something go viral and what doesn’t), how to compose a shot, how to use sounds or memes and how to monetise it. Everyone will learn how to set up their own account and use the TikTok platform, how to target the account for a specific audience and how to get traction, how to create engaging and dynamic content and what content is best to gain an audience and keep them. There will also be group exercises of making videos together, loading them up and seeing what responses they get.
Create a Portrait
3 hours

Led by an experienced tutor, this workshop will teach you the basics of how to paint a portrait…of your colleague! We provide each person with acrylic paints, brushes and a canvas to create your very own portrait. This session is a great way to explore your creativity, have fun and take home your very own portrait.

About The Accumulate Art School For The Homeless
Est. 2014 Accumulate uses creativity to improve the wellbeing of young people affected by homelessness. We work with hostels and housing organisations to deliver learning experiences and show casing opportunities in art, photography, creative writing, audio-visual production, fashion and other creative disciplines. As well as our regular 10-week workshops delivered throughout the year, we fundraise for Higher Education scholarships for our participants.
Accumulate is the bridge between the UK’s creative excellence and the most socially disadvantaged. Drawing on our connections across renowned education institutes and industry practitioners, as well as long-standing relationships with hostels and charities, we are London’s centre of education for creative arts and media for the homeless.

We want our activity to reach more people and we want to share the benefits of our creative expertise with you through our creative workshops.

What your support will provide
Accumulate’s Creative Workshops start at £1500 which goes towards supporting our activity.
£1500 will pay for:
- a Tutor for 10 Accumulate 2-hour workshops for our community
- one third of an Accumulate Scholarship. An Accumulate Scholarship enables recipients to study the Access to HE course at Ravensbourne University London and Morley College London.
- five laptops for participants on our Accumulate Scholarship Programme
- covers lunches and travel costs for 15 people at our workshops
- part of our Make Art to Teach Art course, equipping participants with skills in leading their own creative workshops and the potential to make money from this.
